This set contains a 10 small sized assortment of fluorescent minerals. Some of these minerals fluoresce under a filtered shortwave (SW 254nm) UV light, some under a longwave (LW 365nm) UV light, and some under both.
*You will need a "filtered Shortwave (SW 254nm) UV light", or a Longwave (LW 365nm) UV light in order to see the fluorescence shown in the pictures (as marked in each picture with SW/LW).* With a Shortwave it looks better and brighter.

In this set there are 10 fluorescent minerals from different locations.
These specimen were photographed using a 36 watt shortwave ultraviolet lamp and a longwave Convoy S2+ flashlight. The pictures have not been retouched.
Shortwave lamps have a range of 200-280 nm.
Longwave lights have a spectrum of 315-400 nm and are also called UVA.

*Please keep in mind that exposure to UV light is dangerous. We recommend the use of protective goggles and gloves (and wearing sunscreen in the hands and exposed skin) when handling minerals under UV light*
