5.8 lb Beautiful LARGE 3 Wave "blue" Calcite, hydrozincite From Buckwheat Dump, Franklin NJ Multi fluo under Sw/Mw/Lw UV light

This fluorescent calcite is multi wave, and it fluoresces under shortwave, midwave, and longwave UV lights. There is some minoer hydrozincite as well.

The coolest fluorescence can be seen under a midwave (MW 310nm) UV light where a nice pink and purple fluorescence is seen.
Under Shortwave (SW 254nm) it fluoresces neon orange, under longwave (LW 365nm) it fluoresces pale blue, and under midwave (MW 310nm) it fluoresces pink and purple.

*You will need a filtered Midwave (MW 310nm) UV light, or a shortwave (SW 254nm) , or a longwave (LW 365nm) UV light in order to see the fluorescence shown in the pictures. (As marked in each picture)*
*Regular black lights will NOT show fluorescence at all*

*Please keep in mind that the higher the UV light's wattage is, the brighter the fluorescent reaction will be*

This specimen was photographed using a Engineous Designs midwave UV flashlight, a UVTools 36 watt Shortwave UV light, and a Convoy s2+ Longwave UV flashlight. The pictures have not been retouched.

-Shortwave lamps have a range of 200-280 nm and are also called UV-C. (254 nm are recommended)
-Midwave lights have a spectrum of 280-315 nm and are also called UV-B (310-314 nm are recommended)
-Longwave lights have a spectrum of 315-400 nm and are also called UV-A. (365 are recommended)
