This necklace features an awesome specimen of super bright willemite, calcite, and franklinite.
*Please keep in mind that exposure to UV light is dangerous. We recommend the use of protective goggles and gloves, and wearing sunscreen in the hands when handling minerals under UV light*
*Do not put any form of Shortwave UV light on your skin please*
Willemite: grey under daylight, fluoresces neon green under SW/LW UV light.
Calcite: white under daylight, fluoresces neon orange under SW/LW UV light.
Franklinite: black under daylight, non fluorescing under UV light.
It has been wrapped in black coated copper wire and hangs on a 18" black vegan faux suede cord that can be extended to 20". It glows bright orange, and green under shortwave UV black-light and longwave UV black-light, with shortwave being the most vibrant.
This specimen was photographed using a 36 watt shortwave ultraviolet lamp. The pictures have not been retouched.
The specimen was self collected from Sterling Hill Mine in New Jersey.
