This awesome specimen contains super bright fluorescent wollastonite, some calcite, franklinite, and specs of garnet throughout the entire specimen. This piece is fully covered in the wollastonite crystals, making it a top quality rare specimen.
Wollastonite: White under daylight, fluoresces yellow under SW UV light.
Calcite: White/grey under daylight, fluoresces orange under SW/LW UV light.
Franklinite: Black under daylight, non fluorescing under UV light.
Garnet: Red/brown under daylight, non fluorescing under UV light.
Franklin marble: White under daylight, fluoresces Dark blue/purple

The atomic structure of this mineral reacts to shortwave (SW) ultraviolet light resulting in a beautiful yellow fluorescence with orange specs.
*You will need a true filtered Shortwave UV light in order to see the fluorescence shown in the pictures.*
This specimen was photographed using a 36 watt shortwave ultraviolet lamp. The pictures have not been retouched.
