These druzy chalcedony and clear quartz geodes fluoresce neon green under shortwave 254nm UV light on the inside.
Under daylight, the druzy crystals inside the geode look white / clear.

**ONLY A SHORTWAVE 254nm UV LIGHT WILL SHOW THE FLUORESCENCE so make sure you have a true filtered shortwave lamp/flashlight (read below for shortwave lights info).

This listing is for one closed geode. Each geode will be unique, and may not look exactly as the pictures above.
Each geode is approximately 1.5" - 2" in diameter and weighs about 6 oz each.
These geodes are from Sonora, Mexico.

The best way to open these geodes is with a chisel and a hammer.

**You will need a true filtered Shortwave UV light in order to see the fluorescence shown in the pictures**

**SHORTWAVE lamps have a range of 200-280 nm.**
Longwave lights have a spectrum of 315-400 nm and are also called UVA. (This type of light will NOT light up the geodes)

When purchasing UV lights, make sure that the nm (nanometer) advertised matches the light wavelength (a lot of sellers claim their UV lights are either shortwave or longwave, and in a lot of cases the listing is not correct/accurate). If you are purchasing a Shortwave lamp, the nm in the description should have a number in between 200-280, and make sure that the listing says "filtered" (the filter is very important to achieve a beautiful fluorescence without visible purple light). Also, the higher the wattage in the light, the more vibrant and visible the fluorescence will be. If you have any questions just let us know and we will do our best to assist :)
